The hardware has a lifespan that is ludicrous when you compare it to the tempo of art history, and software isn't a bit better. So let's not even try. What's gone is gone. According to the author, our culture is literally being suffocated by the storage, organization, maintenance and construction of data from the past. But as always, an archive will not be able to hinder Internet art. Art historians and curators will always try to preserve the objects of their work.
