The DOCAM Documentation Model offers a framework that enables the structuring of a digital file of artwork or “Digital Workfile.” The model brings together, organizes and makes accessible the documentation created by various contributors throughout the lifecycle of a media artwork. It is rendered through a graphic interface that illustrates the links between the work’s documents, producers, lifecycle steps, successive iterations, and components.

DOCAM's Cataloguing Guide
The Cataloguing Guide for New Media Collections is aimed primarily at people who manage new media art collections, such as registrars, collection archivists and museum curators. This guide will also prove useful to the extended community of creators, researchers, presenters and collectors. The Cataloguing Structure Committee for the Documentation and Conservation of the Media Arts Heritage (DOCAM) Project sought to answer the questions and meet the needs of practitioners responsible for describing, explaining, exhibiting and documenting works of art. This guide presents the methodology used, the tools developed and the results obtained to provide these practitioners with sufficient knowledge to soundly manage, conserve and exhibit new media artworks.

DOCAM's Technological Timeline
L'historique technologique de DOCAM vise à illustrer de manière claire et imagée le parallélisme entre l’histoire de l'art et l’histoire de l’invention technologique. Ce n’est pas un historique exhaustif de toutes les technologies utilisées par des artistes pour produire ou exposer leurs œuvres. Il a plutôt été conçu pour montrer comment les œuvres d’art retenues comme études de cas par l’équipe de DOCAM s’inscrivent dans un historique plus large des technologies des nouveaux médias. Réalisées et présentées à des moments particuliers de l’histoire de la technologie, ces œuvres posent toutes un défi aux conservateurs qui travaillent à leur conservation ou aux commissaires qui souhaitent les exposer de nouveau.
